Chipotle "Morita" Chilies 100g

Generally, a chipotle is a smoky red ripe jalapeño.

The two most popular types of chipotle chiles, "Morita" and "Meco," are both smoked jalapeños. Morita chili peppers are smoked for less time than Chipotle Meco, leaving them softer and retaining their modest fruity flavor.

Morita means "little blackberry" in Spanish. The color of this smoked chili is dark red and sometimes approaches purple in color. These are the chilies that are often sold in canned adobo sauce.
